Terms of use

Last updated 30 October 2026

AccessiblePress offers document template kits for Word and Google Docs, a checklist and other documents, free. By downloading them, you agree to what follows.

What’s free

Every kit and document on this site is free to download. There is no payment, no account and no signup. The course mailing list is separate and optional.

What you may do with them

Everything here is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt it, for any purpose, including commercially.

Documents you make from the templates are yours. They don’t need a credit line: as an extra permission beyond CC BY 4.0, we waive the attribution requirement for documents you create by filling in or adapting the templates.

If you share the files themselves, as templates or as a checklist, credit them as the license asks. Each kit’s page, and the LICENSE.txt file in each kit, gives the credit line to use.

Accessibility of your finished documents

The templates are built to support WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, and our reasoning is published on the Why they’re built this way page. The documents you make from them depend on what you add, such as images, alternative text, tables and links. We can’t guarantee that any finished document conforms, or that it satisfies any particular law or regulation that applies to you.

No warranty

The files are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, as the license says.

Changes

We may update these terms. A file you have already downloaded stays under the license it came with.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States.
